Fun Memories

October 2010
Chippa and I went to Texas together for the chance to compete at the ASCA Nationals. I had a wonderful time, met many good people and saw some interesting dogs. Chippa accomplished her STDcs title on four runs with good results. She was the winner on started cattle at one pre-trial out of app. 15 dogs (although she had the handicap of a first-time-handler who were very nervous). Below is Chippa with her new friend Ray.

June 2009
Chippa and I flew to France to meet Corinne & Andre (owner of well-bred Aussies). This was a wonderful experience of many reasons, I got to see how people handle many sheep (can’t remember the number but probably between 200-500 head). We got to work some sheep, but we were very new to the sheep business and learned little. We got to see the eiffel tower in Paris. Below is a picture of Chippa watching the sheep (although she wasn’t supposed to).

February 2009
I went to one of my first clinics, this one under Cappy Pruett. I learned a great deal from this man who helped me understand cattle. This was the first time for me to handle cattle for real. Below is a picture of Chippa watching the livestock in the arena.

June 2007
My mother, my aunt & I drove to Denmark to pick up our new puppy, Chippa. This was a long drive on 3000 km (1900 US miles) on four days. We was in a hurry to get back home as we had the annual calf-marking coming up. I got to meet some amazing people, Milene & Michael, breeder of Chippa. Below is a picture of (left to right) me, Milene & Michael with Chip (red merle, father of Chippa) and Chippa herself as a 8 weeks old pup.
